Currently creating art from her trailer studio while traveling North America, Morgan is inspired by the ephemerality of the natural world.
Her desire to escape modern ills by submerging into the sublime is complicated by an understanding of the fleeting health of natural spaces and accompanied with a sense of duty.
Her multidimensional assemblages are comprised of plein air landscapes encapsulated with specimens found on site. Born from the urge to collect what is beautiful, her preservations call into question ideas of impermanence, conservation, ownership, containment, and caretaking.
In addition to Fine Arts, Morgan studied Art Education at Texas State University as well as Criminal and Social Justice at the College of the Rockies in BC Canada. She seeks to explore how art can serve as a medium to move us both individually and communally. Her time teaching in public schools, community centers, and juvenile detention has deepened her belief in art as a fundamental means of knowing, connecting, and transforming.
